History

Origin[]

Miguel O'Hara (Earth-2099) (3)

Miguel O'Hara was a scientist who started working for Alchemax, after signing a contract for Rapture. However, he wasn't satisfied with his job and started hallucinating of the erased previous 2099. When he started researching the mutated Thorites from the Ravage, he was attacked by the "Spider Man". He researched the creature and showed his search to the Alchemax board who were left impressed. However, Miguel left Alchemax, since he wasn't satisfied with himself. After that, Miguel tried to find an alternative way to get more Rapture, but the deal went wrong and during the attack he was left unconscious. Luckily, he was saved by his brother, Gabe who tried to convince Miguel to join his cause, but he refused. After returning to the city he saw a masked man crawling on a side of wall drawing the word "Oroboros". Miguel followed the man only to discover his older self.[3]

This Miguel told his younger self the truth about his timeline, the heroes, and how Doctor Doom changed everything. The old Miguel tried to convince his younger self to become the new Spider-Man of this timeline, but Miguel refused not wanting to become a masked hero. However, after Miguel found out that his brother had used the Mystique to disguise himself in order to expose Alchemax, he rushed to save his brother. Unfortunately, Alchemax found out about this and blew up Miguel's apartment where Gabe was, killing him. This left Miguel destroyed, but he decided to follow the instructions of his older self and become a hero. He infused himself with the Spider Man's DNA to become Spider-Man and prevented the Thorites from harming some children.[4]

Celestial Garden[]

Continuing his work as Spider-Man on Nueva York, Miguel clashed with members of The Cabal, an illuminati group that is above the law thanks to their Black Cards. After the corpse of Jovion the Enactor crashed on the Wastelands of Earth, creating a Celestial Garden, Miguel learned via a data drive he decrypted with the help of Ghost Rider that the event was all a plot created by the Cabal in order to gain the unimaginable power of the garden. In the aftermath of an attack at the Ghost Spire by Cabal's shocktroopers that followed Spider-Man during his investigation, Miguel found out that the Cabal put a bounty on the Celestial Garden, granting membership in their ranks to whoever could secure it, and that the founder of the organization was none other than Norman Osborn.[5]

Miguel O'Hara (Earth-2099) (4)

Spider-Man got the people of the Ghost Spire safely to Transverse City after their old home was destroyed and Zero told Miguel of an ex-soldier that later helped him shut down Osborn's bounty.[6] After failing to recruit Valkyrie, Miguel was contacted by Moon Knight a year after the Avengers' defeat at the hands of the Masters of Evil. Spider-Man joined forces with other heroes and formed the New Avengers to stop the Masters from accessing the Celestial Garden. After defeating the villains, Miguel and the other Avengers celebrated on Planet Wakanda.[7]

Following his return to Earth, Spider-Man enlisted to help of Black Widow to locate the technopathic mutant Nostromo.[8] Miguel and Nostromo arrived at the Celestial Garden where they found that the Cabal Sentinels were hunting down the X-Men, who were at the garden looking for a new home. Spider-Man and the X-Men defeated the Sentinels, attracting the attention of the Cabal, with Norman Osborn finally arriving at the garden and meeting Miguel face to face.[9] Spider-Man fought Norman, who turned into the Galactic Goblin, while the X-Men and New Avengers took care of the Cabal. After getting help from Valkyrie, Miguel managed to give Osborn's black card to Nostromo so that he could use Ghost Rider to deactivate all the other cards, leaving all Cabal members without their wealth and power. Spider-Man had Norman arrested while the X-Men claimed the garden as their own. Back at Nueva York, Miguel welcomed Spider-Woman, a member of the New Avengers that moved to operate as a new vigilante for the city.[10]

Dark Genesis[]

With the fall of the black cards, the lower classes rose and started spreading chaos while the platinum cardholders moved to fill the vacant top spot left, which only angered the citizens. Spider-Man was later informed by Lyla and Spider-Woman about a break and raid on the skyrise district that ended with multiple dead at the penthouse of Michael Erick. In a twist of fate, Erick had bonded to the Carnage Symbiote that was stored by Alchemax and began killing black carders, which earned him the support of the lower class despite him previously also being a sad*st black card owner. Miguel fought Carnage at Alchemax plaza while Spider-Woman tried to contain the crowd, but the two heroes failed and the villain got away, with Sivern later taking Miguel to the hospital after he was wounded by Carnage.[11]

Miguel was taken to the Ghost Room, the new home of Ghost Rider, by Spider-Woman on Lyla's recommendation. Due to Zero not being entertained by physical anatomy, the group contacted Blade, who managed to extract Carnage's rot from his body. After Sivern came up with the idea to deoxygenate Carnage's blood to starve it, the group agreed to trap the symbiote in the Ghost Room.[12]

Notes

  • Unlike his Earth-928 counterpart, Miguel willingly signed the contract for Rapture, and wasn't tricked into getting it by Tyler Stone. Tyler also quips of not putting the drug in Miguel's drink, while Earth-928 Tyler did just that.

Trivia

  • Miguel has his own version of the "Parker Luck" called the "O'Hara Luck". [13]
