Nice.. I like it. I made very few suggestions
I have an apartment that IS slap bang in the middle of the city. I don't like it a lot due to all the hustle and bustle in the vicinity. Moreover, it's a weather-beaten building. I prefer a beautiful house tucked away in the outskirts in a secluded neighborhood
Another way to say: I don't like it a lot => "I DON'T CARE for all the....
Moreover, it's a weather-beaten building AND I MUCH prefer a beautiful house tucked away in the outskirts in a secluded neighborhood.

Yes, I think that is the correct use of "slap bang."
I don't think it is a common expression, at least not anymore.
Also, it would only be used in casual speech.
A similar expression that I have heard more often is "smack dab"
You can use it in the same way with the same meaning.
Off topic, but this made me think of another "slap ___" expression.
"slap dash" meaning done quickly without much thought or care.
"I don't think you should give this report to the boss the way it is. It seems a little slap dash."
"Your usual slap dash effort will never get you a promotion."
